Re: Aukword1's Beams Swapped AE86
I don't, if you are asking me. Anyhow, I just finished redoing almost all of my brake lines (minus the rear hardline) and added a hydraulic handbrake. The handbrake is setup independently to the rear wilwoods and I added a reservoir with all new lines. I will take some pictures later. Also, I would ...

Re: Code 33, 41, 42
Did you remove the TPS when you were cleaning the intake manifold? If you did remove the TPS, you have to calibrate it. I'd start by checking for shorts in the wiring or by making sure the contacts are clean. if that all checks out, try checking for vacuum leaks and correct vacuum routing. If all th...

Yeah it makes sense to run a longer rod in that situation. I guess you can always make a rod for whatever length you need as well. Glad you got it sorted out!

Re: Aukword1's Beams Swapped AE86
Did you have to do anything special to bolt the ae86 slave to the J160? I ground part of the bellhousing away where the 86 slave fluid ports hit, but I guess I didnt grind enough because last time I tried to reinstall one of the ears cracked and broke off. But likewise I dont feel like I am getting...

lol, no one was really supposed to see that video. I am in the middle of adding a wilwood proportioning valve because the one I had in previously was completely seized. So while I was doing that I decided to also has some hard lines to other set of calipers and install a hydro handbrake for shits an...

Re: Timing woes and tps'
I would make sure the crank is actually TDC by removing the 1st cylinder's spark plug and putting something in there like a stick or something. Once the stick reaches the highest point your at TDC. Then check the cams to make sure they line up at that point. If all that is correct then the distribut...

I ran lightweight pulleys in my old G35 for like 10 years with no issues. I also ran T3's pulley on my old 4ag motor for a couple years with no issues either. Personally, I don't know anyone who has had any issues running aftermarket pulleys that ran into excessive bearing wear at the crank.

Re: Timing woes and tps'
water pump pulley wont line up as well since the ae86 water pump is longer. If you are still running acc you should just buy a solid crank pulley from T3 or NST, that way you don't have to mess around with machining current pulleys etc.

Re: Timing woes and tps'
The original 4age crank pulley was a two piece that had some rubber piece holding it together. Pretty sure that rubber piece holding it could be the cause of the slippage. Once that starts happening, you better replace the pulley or it will fly off!

Re: Can anyone tell me the horn wires plug wires?
I'm pretty sure the horn is supposed to be grounded to the chasis right near the plug independently. It's been so long since I removed the oem horn setup so my memory is fuzzy on it. It does look like you have the right wires for it though.

Re: Aukword1's Beams Swapped AE86
So this is where I am at now. Having a bit of fitment issues with getting both calipers to line up properly to the rotor. I will have to hit up the hardware store to get some 2 3/4" ID washers to act as spacers and figure out a way to get them both to line up. The quad caliper bracket was desig...

Re: Can anyone tell me the horn wires plug wires?
So I checked mine, It looks like it has a green wire with a red stripe and a white one (I think). I have that part of the harness tucked so its hard to see and the engine bay has been painted several times so I could be wrong.

Re: Can anyone tell me the horn wires plug wires?
My guess would be that the horn isn't being grounded at some point on the wire loom. I can check when I get home what the colors are for you.

Re: Aukword1's Beams Swapped AE86
I know it's been longer than a week but I came across a few issues here and there but most of it is sorted out. So first of all, I just got the differential back today. I didn't have the tools to measure pinion depth so it was cheaper for me to outsource that to a diff shop. If you are in the area, ...

What are you trying to wire up in the engine bay? I would probably use the EFI main relay but really depends on what you are trying to do.

On a lighter side of things, I found out that there is an extension for Chrome that fixes the photobucket link errors. Its called Photobucket hotlink fix and it works great.

Don't give up yet you are very close. I started mine with the same bottom end seizure and been through a lot since then. I'm glad that I didn't give up and get grinding at it. The car with a proper/healthy engine is amazing. Just keep at it!
