Re: Carbureting the 4AGE essentials
I fixed the issue on throttle, I only wanted to run it for a little while so I let the fuel pump fill the bowls and cut it off and forgot it was off... kept it running and it revs but runs a bit rich at times then lean. The real confusing part is, while driving it down the street to see how i...

Re: Engine Transmission bolts
That looks to be FWD so i'm not sure if it uses different bolts but on my 86 the top bolts are shorter IIRC. I should have a spare bolt to measure later on when I get to my car.

Re: Carbureting the 4AGE essentials
ok, it goes lean at full throttle as well, but I haven't given it too much throttle since the engine is on a fresh rebuild and it was still warming up at the time. Damn I don't want to wait another week for jets to come in... I might be able to shim them a bit.

Re: Carbureting the 4AGE essentials
Managed to get my 4age started up and running today but with a bit of a problem, it runs lean as hell and pops through the carbs with any sort of throttle. I'm thinking the main jets would be the cause since idle is mostly fine. Idle jets may come in handy too though since the idle mixture screws ar...

Re: Carbureting the 4AGE essentials
I'm in the process of installing a 4age with a set of Yamaha 600r bike carbs into my sr5. Looking at the carbs I just noticed the throttle wheel is much smaller than my sr5's aisin carb. Anyone here running bike carbs have a short gas pedal?

ogdougynutty wrote:^ I just took a intake manifold gasket (the one the goes against the head not meant to fit the manifold ) found the area of that and ordered pipe where the outer diameter fit that and the inner diameter fit the area of the carburetors.
You wouldn't happen to still have your old manifold would you?

Does the water neck have the hole on the bottom of it for the bypass pipe to the rear water pump housing? How much would it be to ship to 75214?

Re: Carbed AE86
Could you explain a bit more in depth on how you made your first intake manifold? I'm in the process of putting a bike carbed 4age myself but I just cant get the port size and shape right... It never seems to be wide enough, is that head a bigport?

Sometimes I wish these cars were sold for longer... at least untill '96. I could see the GTS competing against the civics of the day if it got the 4AGZE from the Mr2.
