Re: Eric's Free SR5
Oh and my old Corolla is on Atlanta Craigslist for 4100 OBO and says it's a built AE86 lol. Haha it's a REbuilt engine lolzzz. Also the kid painted it black. And he's parting it out I think. He sold the carb setup on Club4ag Facebook page to a friend of mine on 4AC Powered. Whatever.

Re: Eric's Free SR5
Installed Parts By Max coilovers, new battery, brakes needed all new pads and hardware, front passenger caliper bracket was seized and rear driver caliper slide pins stripped. This thing was really a death trap when I got it. Brakes are great now. The rear lights are hacked and almost all out, gotta...

Yes use that diagram for 4AC to carb'd 4AGE swap. It's easy as crap right there. Even the arch adapter part number is correct and active so your tach will still work.

Capping mine built a lot of vacuum pressure in the tank. I never got around to making a rollover vent before I sold the car.

Re: lightweight wheels
How much wheel flex have you noticed driving on the street? I'm not trying to start to dead horse argument about cast vs forged and legit vs rep. My SC400 has 19" forged Volk wheels and my AE86 has SSR cast and Hayashi cast wheels at different times and I couldn't tell you from driving the car ...

Re: lightweight wheels
The quality of the test wheels has no bearing on the focus of the test. The test was whether a lightweight wheel os faster aroubd the track than a heavier wheel. The wheel brand and quality is not important at all. Only the wheels' weight is important in the tests. The test easily could have been fo...

Re: lightweight wheels
Google Grassroots Motorsports amd some key words like lightweight or Miata. There was a bunch of long articles and debates about the need for lightweight wheels. Unless you are in the top 0.01% of your particular motorsport, the light wheels make a tiny difference. If you drive on the street with st...

Go to a different auto parts store and never go back to that one. Any idiot counter man should be able to look up the sizes either on the computer or in the great big application book. I worked parts for 5-6 years. I'll check my big books when I get to the shop tomorrow. No need for factory service ...

Original poster kid: forget the 86 and buy a Miata. You will actually get to learn how to drive it instead of spending all your free time fixing the AE86 that some fanboy trashed trying to make it a super fabulous driftah.

Re: daily driving with itb's
Just look at the picture i posted above of my old engine bay. I opened the hood and there are some leaves laying on the filter. No filter means that trash could easily get sucked into the motor. I worked way too hard on that damn trashcan to have it suck up crap and die so easy.

Re: daily driving with itb's
I used a big Ram Air filter and plate off eBay. Pretty sure it was for a BMW 2002 you have to measure the distance from intake #2 to #3 to find what plate you need. The clips were installed facing the wrong way so I pressed them out, IN welded some threaded studs in the filter, and used 3 wing nuts ...

Oil filter relocation (new) RX7 oil cooler (used)
Don't really have use for these with my new project. The oil filter relocation kit is cheap off ebay and there is no difference in quality over a higher priced kit. I think I paid $50 for it.
