Re: Carbureting the 4AGE essentials

Actually, no more than 2.5 turns out total from seating. They should never be seated tightly. They should always only be seated until you get a some resistance. If you tighten them down as you would a bolt or nut for your intake manifold or lug nuts then you've beveled the tips and they'll need to b...

Re: Weber 45's as itb's

Removable sleeves is a great idea. The small, inner venturis (the little barrels floating in the middle of the throttle body) are of no use in an efi ITB setup and are easy enough to unbolt and slip out. If you can make the sleeve diameters near exact and as thin as possible you'll accomplish sealin...

The 22R is a good choice. Have you considered using a 20R head atop of your 22R bottom end? It's a better flowing head matched with a stroked bottom.

You MIGHT even be able to adapt the 4AFE alt bracket to work. I repeat - MIGHT. The alternator is adjustable on the 4AFE and is its own tensioner like it is on the AGE.

Are you running a map ecu or stand alone or did you make an adapter/plenum to adapt the AFM to them? It's definitely doable. Just have to seal up any spots/orifices that would be a vacuum leak either temporarily (if you want to run the carbs again) or permanently if you no care (<-this evil and you ...

Re: A thread on the Facts about running ITBs on a non ITB EC

^ this is true. The old carb method of synching each of the throttle bodies mechanically is use a uni-sync on each throttle body. Adjust the idle speed screw on each throttle to match that of any one of them - but choose one obviously. A manometer is another tool that uses vacuum tubes filled with e...

Re: Carbureting the 4AGE essentials

If you prefer to stick with MSD than I highly recommend the programmable 6AL 2. It's about over $200 but it has a programmable ignition curve which you'll need though I can't say for sure that it'll work with the 20v dizzy. As for energizing the vvt-i solenoid, unless the 6AL-2 has inputs/outputs fo...

Yeah, I think all you need is just a gasket kit by the sounds of it. :)

You want to make sure the springs on the pump diaphragm are sandwiched between the metal disc of the diaphragm & the body of the lower block with the diaphragm piston being actuated by the pump lever.

It's usually a pretty tight fit but you can get a stripped down Mik body in there sideways. If you want to do both simultaneously, pick up two gallons & one the autoparts store's empty buckets and fill it up with both gallons and plop both those Miks in there.

Hey Dexter , yeah sounds like you're pretty close. Before switching out the chokes try 40 pumps. It might be too late but it may have been better to keep the GTS harness unharmed by pulling it and grabbing SR5 harnesses. That way you can easily go back to EFI should you ever want to in the future. Your essentials are lights, alternator/charging system, ignition, bypass AFM COR (circuit open rel...

Re: Carbureting the 4AGE essentials

For your cam profiles and compression this is the ballpark I've come up with assuming 7000 is about the peak power (which is low for that high of compression and cam profile imo):

Chokes: 36
Mains: 145
Etubes: F16
Airs: 180
Idles: 45f9
Pumps: 40

Re: Water Pump Line Up

To reiterate what ga_goosh said:

Use either ALL FWD pulleys

OR

ALL RWD pulleys.

Don't mix & match them for proper belt alignment.

All water pumps will be fine if you're going e-fan.

RWD water pumps ONLY if you plan to bolt the clutch fan up to it.
