As you would say: why bother rebuilding an antiquated roots blower and just fit a turbo.
Do these suffer bearing trouble? I don't know how many miles are on my SC12 but I've put 90K miles on it, if it gave trouble I would fit a turbo.

I know ms can support vvt, i have my car running ms2 v3 that i built myself. But the pnp for a 4ag is for usdm 16v engines. The 93-95 mr2 pnp may work with the 20v, but there is very little about anyone using pnp for that. Check out the msextra forums, a majority use ms2/ms3 because it is simpler t...

The fusible links on the battery terminal and held in by bolts, pop open the plastic side covers and use an 8mm socket on one side and a 10mm on the other.

You need to have the hole in the gasket so that the engine can breathe.
Follow the port and you will see it connects to the cam cover breather nipple.

There's a table down a bit on Bill Sherwood's page listing the 20V cams
http://www.billzilla.org/4agstock.htm
I could have sworn I saw the specs listed on a Levin&Trueno magazine or something like that

The fuel feed hard pipe is 8mm or 5/16" and the return hard pipe is 7mm or whatever that is in imperial nonsense
That's on efi equipped AE86s anyway
Edit oh I guess the 1/4 fitting you used that I didn't bother reading worked ok.

I came across this write up recently on how to completely strip the AAC valve and adjust it:
http://www.mr2.com/forums/threads/10453 ... adjustment
I haven't tried it yet as I will get someone to make up the tool required.

I found that using the method jonndee86 suggested caused a jumpy rev clock needle any time there was an extra electrical load turned on, turn signals etc. I then changed 2 resistors and a capacitor in the rev clock circuit board and the needle is steady. Re: Restoring AE86 w/ 4AGE 16v + HKS ITB + Haltech E6X
I have fitted a Recaro SR seat to an AE86 rail, remove the oem seat from the rail (I think 2 bolts and 2 rivets from memory) and the spacing is correct for the earlier type SR seats (DC2 Integra type) I had to drill some holes obviously to match the Recaro seat mountings. I got paranoid though as it...

I mounted the bias valve setup inside the car on mine, using a JDM setup that has a separate T piece for the front and a pressure reducing valve for the rear. I routed the front hoses out through the 2 wiring grommets and joined the rear into the hard pipe by the handbrake. http://i192.photobucket.c...

What actually breaks in a T50 gearbox ? Parts wear out of course and I wonder how many 'broken' gearboxes are out there because something has just worn out. Personally I think the T50 is a cracking gearbox and mine stands up to all of the rally abuse I can throw at it. (now that I've sorted the wor...

Re: T50 input shaft
That looks to be the 5th gear bearing spacer, it goes between the 5th gear and the end bearing on the main shaft and is located from turning by a ball bearing.
It's a while since I changed a set of bearings in a T50 so haven't had the input bearing off but I still have an old one in a box somewhere.

Yes it's at TDC, look at the timing marks(highlighted with Tipex) close to each other on the 2 pulleys also if the cam cover was fitted the upper timing mark would be inline with the cover mark.

That won't come with the thermostat inlet or head outlet even though they are shown in the picture, it says refer to another page for their part numbers.

You only need to remove the 3rd/4th gear hub and one snap ring to get at the 3rd gear baulk ring.

Re: T50 gearbox help
Is it blocked? Chances are the baulk ring isn't gripping the taper on the gear any more due to wear.
If you split the box and compare the baulk ring grip with slight inward pressure applied on 3rd and then on a different good gear. Pop out the layshaft when you do this.

I rebuilt the engine and thoroughly cleaned everything.
I calibrated the TPS 0% and 100% figures and told the tuner to double check it.
I'm thinking it's just an odd software issue.

There's a few 4WD Corollas here in Ireland and usually use Celica GT4 running gear, which is an E series transmission.
The 2wd front subframe isn't compatible with a 4WD transmission so it would be easier to start with an OEM 4WD Corolla.

Re: 20V on MS2 idle issue
Idle was perfect with the Toyota ecu.
It doesn't stall every time, it's a somewhat random issue but usually happens downshifting from 3rd to 2nd rolling into a roundabout etc.
