Re: My Trueno GT-Apex 20v swap and resto.
A few more items installed, will be starting the engine this weekend. Have to install the oil filter relocation and cooler. Get the new Greddy radiator all hooked up and then its fluids and final checks before start-up. Hopefully the car will be completely finished next weekend! Using OEM clutch fan...

Re: Is there any saving this Trueno :(
Full coverage is fine for stock and lightly tinkered with assuming you bought the car at the right price, but agreed value on anything beyond what is covered otherwise. I think I'm at something like $34/month for full coverage with no deductible and free glass. Is "Agreed Value" Where you...

Re: Techo toy tuning short throw
Thanks for all the reply's. So the Short throw can cause issues with syncro's, and you have to shift slower than you would with a factory shifter? I am assuming the issue with the syncro's is caused by grinding gears? Yes, when you try to shift faster (even if you hit it perfectly) our old style sy...

Re: Techo toy tuning short throw
This is a highly debatable subject but myself, and many Japanese AE86 drivers I know are strongly against short throw shifters and the T50 mission. The STS(short throw shifter) increases the amount of leverage and quickens the shift(internally) just as much as it does externally, to the point that t...

Re: NEW: Rota Kyusha 15x9
FROM THE VIDEO: Those are XXR's which are JUNK. Rota's are a much better quality wheel. ROTA used to be an OEM manufacturer for Subaru and a few other car companies. Also, you could look at that two ways. If the wheel didnt take the damage, the force would have transfered into the suspension arms, a...

A lot of progress yesterday! http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7366/13049861894_b6a73ffb0e_h.jpg Fresh timing belt and tensioner. The 16v water pump was in good condition so it didn't get replaced. Also using the 16v alternator and brackets(has to be ground down as it touches the timing belt tensioner)....

Re: Shipping Cars into the States
If its older than 25 years its pretty simple. Im military so its easier for me, but you would probably have to pay taxes on it.
When it comes time to register it, it all depends on the state you live in. Some easy (south carolina), some extremely difficult (California).

Re: AE86 Hunting in Japan
Alot of things are illegal but legal if registered. Engine swaps where the engine code is different(16v to 20v is ok) have to be documented. Adjustable suspension parts are illegal(some can be registered). 3" minimum ground clearance. Tires cant stick out past the body at the top. Big wings, il...

TRD Shifter - $150 obo
Will be selling my TRD Shifter soon. Its in excellent shape, maybe a torn inner cup-boot but you can re-use your old one IIRC. It is still installed in the car, and the car is at the shop right now. This does angle to the right so be aware of that. Will not include main shift boot or knob. http://fa...

4ea 15x6.5J Watanabe RS 8-spoke - make offer
I grabbed some beat up Watanabe wheels the other day to use as drift beaters. After pricing up tires and refinishing, I decided I need to focus on my engine swap and come back to it later. I don't know about the offsets. They Say 15, 6.5J, and RS. Checked them all and no offsets present on any of th...

Re: WTB: Stock shifter asembly
Sorry i just registered here so i cant PM yet. I did some research and i guess the JDM shifter is angled to the right so I need a JDM one. The TRD is heavy leaning to the right so if your LHD, you wouldnt want it.
