Re: Restoring AE86 w/ 4AGE 16v + HKS ITB + Haltech E6X
On the nose of the OEM injectors you will see a fat black rubber washer. That is the "nose insulator" and serves the dual purpose of holding the injector steady by locating in the silver recess, and insulating it from vibration/heat transfer from the head. The O-ring on the other end has t...

Re: Restoring AE86 w/ 4AGE 16v + HKS ITB + Haltech E6X
Yes, the injector holes on your ITB's are plugged, so you will be installing the injectors in the head. Basically you need to round up these bits... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v127/Vitrium/20120826_153709.jpg The black bits held to the rail by zip ties are the standoff spacers that go between...

Injectors go in the top of the throttle bodies. In this pic the holes for the injectors are blocked off with allen head plugs. http://i411.photobucket.com/albums/pp198/nismo_zxt/HKS%20Parts/100_1100-2.jpg The small threaded holes either side of the plugs are for the brackets that hold the fuel rail,...

Re: Restoring AE86 w/ 4AGE 16v + HKS ITB + Haltech E6X
Highly recommend that you take your time on sorting this stuff out. You have got most (if not all) of the original fittings that were pulled off the engine for the HKS install. These need to be put aside as you will not be using them e.g. TVIS plate, RWD manifold etc. Looking at the pics it seems th...

Re: Silvertop 20v map vacuum
That thread I linked got a little weird towards the bottom :) I think that advice related to putting a filter on the ISCV intake if you delete the factory airbox, which I guess you will be doing. Standard brake booster arrangement is to take vacuum from the side tappings on #1 and #4 throttles. Thes...

Re: Silvertop 20v map vacuum
When you are using the full 20V intake manifold, the best way to get a vacuum signal for a MAP sensor is to tap into the common vacuum rail as explained here... http://forums.club4ag.com/zerothread?id=100874 The vacuum rail is connected to all four intake runners via the ISCV ports, and so it is ave...

... now my problem is car turns over starts and dies after i release the key.... Usual reason is that the engine is running on the cold start injector, and the cold start injector is only active when the engine is cranking. Check that you have 12V at the main injectors when the key is ON. Cheers......

Did you check the wire from the engine fuse to the IG pin on the alternator plug ? You could have a short to ground on that wire. http://i984.photobucket.com/albums/ae328/jondee1/AE86UnderHoodFusebox_zpscaa145df.jpg With the ignition OFF, you should not have any power on the engine fuse. Re: Auto electrician advise required please.
That is a noise suppression condensor (capacitor) and is connected between your 12V supply and ground to suppress electrical noise. It has no relationship to the ballast resistor that was riding on the back of the original coil. You should have full battery voltage (12V plus) at the coil positive. T...

Re: Wiring Gurus
Sounds like an alternator problem. Try unplugging the round plug from
the alternator and see if the fuse still blows ? If the fuse doesn't blow,
get your alternator tested, or try another one.

Re: Auto electrician advise required please.
No, the 4AGE igniter is no longer required, as its role has
been taken over by the Hyperpak unit.
Check the obvious things first...
- Hyperpack ground wires grounded ?
- Coil polarity correct ?
(positive and ground wires on correct coil terminals)

Yes... while having a bit of extra fuel at startup is nice, having a bit of extra air to keep the engine running once it catches, is also important. Assuming that you have the TVIS engine, you should also have the thermostatic auxiliary air valve under the throttle body. The operation and maintenanc...

The 4AGE cold start injector system is based on a single injector fitted to the engine side of the intake plenum. It is fed from the fuel rail and the the injector solenoid is switched ON and OFF by the starter circuit. Operation of the cold start is independent of the ECU. Here is the injector out ...

Re: Door jamb seat belt retractor thingy, what does it do?
If your seatbelts are slow to retract, try spraying the inside of the
belt with a dry silicone aerosol. Spray the length of belt that slides
over/thru the top hanger on the door pillar. The spray is non-marking
so it won't get on your clothes. Worked for me

Probably just the shape and positioning of the clips that hold
the ECU in place. Toyota seem to do that with things like igniters
that appear to be identical, having different numbers according
to which model car they are installed on.

in the pages of club4AG somewhere... you just have to dig.
And the answer should have been... yes you can fill thru
the shifter hole, just don't try to push the oil in too fast.
