Yeah, I am a bit confused about that as well. Also, use some sort of marker to mark the TDC to make it easier to see.

Re: Removing the rear quarter window trim on hatchback

Yeah they just clip right into place and the removal isn't hard either. I did however add some industrial caulk under the trim to create a better seal between the trim and the window because I was getting some water leakage through one side.

Re: 88 gts with bad pickups

backfiring is usually a timing issue. Try checking the timing to make sure it is correct first. Check spark plugs, dizzy rotor and cap. Get back to us with some more information to properly assess the situation.

Definitely not worth the trouble unless you are very bored. You'd probably have to swap injectors too.

Re: Opinions on Sr5 20v swaps vs GTS 20v swaps and conversions and everything else

Thankfully I did my GTSR5 swap many years ago when it was cheap to get a GTS coupe and swap it all over to a hatch. Let's face it though, the cost for parts and just these cars in general will just continue to rise. Imagine what an unmolested stock GTS will be worth in another 30 years lol.

Here is JonDee's post on alternator wiring...

http://club4ag.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=11437

It sounds like your dash wiring is fine and the fuses are fine. I would definitely start with checking the alternator wiring to the fuse. If you still can't get it, please let us know!

Re: Charge Light Weirdness

Definitely sounds like a wiring issue since we know the bulb works. Try searching the forums for wiring diagrams, i know jondee has done quite a few and see if you have any shorts and what not. Do the usual and check fuses but maybe someone who has had this issue before will chime in with a definiti...

Yeah I have a similar setup in my daily driver (7/4) and I don't mind it at all. I can't imagine 8/6 being as bad as everyone says, plus I live in California and the roads aren't too bad. Thanks for the input guys, much appreciated.

Re: Opinions on Sr5 20v swaps vs GTS 20v swaps and conversions and everything else

Well there is definitely more value in keeping an actual GTS stock nowadays. They are going for like 8k or something like that. If you want to modify your car in anyway I think the SR5 GTS swap is the best route. At least that is the route I took. I don't think I would want to do an SR5 GTS swap and...

Re: ae86 turbo question

Oh okay thanks, just making sure I am hooking it up right. I found out that the BOV that I bought had two springs inside it and it made the piston in the bov too heavy for the engine vacuum to release pressure. It is fixed and working properly now.
