Re: What did you do to your car today?
I made a big ass shift knob. It's an 8" long pry bar handle with a eBay shifter extension pressed in inside, so it's threaded inside. I've got about 20 bucks in it.

Re: DIY seat brackets????
I took my seat apart today. This is gonna work just fine. Why pay close to $200 for one set of seat brackets when you can make you own!? Morgan can I get those Nagisa brackets? I think they will be easier to use than the big L aluminum I got, maybe I can return it, or make something else.... Anyways...

Re: Oil everywhere
Thanks Mike! I've already done it, the big O ring between the two oil pump halves was leaking, so I didn't have to take the main body off, which meant no oil pan or exhaust removal. It took me almost 8 hours cuz my impact gun exploded on the crank pulley, so add 3 trips to Lowes lol. What really suc...

Roy that reminds me I have a big filter box I need to modify. It's made by Ramair, it's for a BMW 2002 with twin DCOE's. It is spaced right, but the clips were pressed in from the wrong side. I gotta modify it to work. I'm running open stacks right now.

Yeah I don't see this 3/8" EVER bending lol. I will probably trim a bunch off where it's too wide or tall. For aluminum this stuff is heavy-duty!

Re: How to remove rear tow hooks and where to buy tow hooks.
I don't know where you read that. The USDM rear tow hooks are just loops welded to the bumper brackets. I had to cut one off to fit my exhaust, I used a cut off wheel on a Dremel.

Re: 4ac to 4age swap
I started with an SR5 with a 4AC. Had fun with it, then swapped in a 7AGE with carbs. The fuel system is easy, you'll need a low pressure fuel pump, i using a Holley red label pump and regulator. For electrics I'm using a 4AGE dizzy, MSD 6AL and MSD coil. All of the information you need to do the sw...

Re: Opinions? Itbs vs carbs
I didn't have to do much with them, they were off another running Corolla. I did have to adjust the idle on it. I had a 2 barrel Weber carb on my 4AC a couple years ago, I did have to keep that dude tuned right. You want to learn how to tune carbs? Buy a nitro powered RC truck. You'll be tinkering w...

Re: DIY seat brackets????
Got my metal today. It's 3/8" thick 6061 aluminum. I think it's overkill now that I have it in my hand lol. I have read DIY seat mounts on other forums using 1/4" steel stock, so I figured a little thicker aluminum would do the same job with less weight. I will probably cut away a lot of t...

Re: Opinions? Itbs vs carbs
FCR carbs (as I recall) are not a bolt on affair. You will have to fabricate an intake manifold. Side draft carbs have the same type of mounting flange and there are several off the shelf options for a manifold that will accept those carbs. I have a TRD shorty manifold with Mikuni 44PHH carbs. They ...

Re: Opinions? Itbs vs carbs
Carbs are cooler, ITBs are betterer for ease of operation. There are two ways to look at carbs: one way is you HAVE to do all the tuning, the other way to look it is you GET to do all the tuning. I have carbs on a 16V bigport because that was the easiest, more cost effective, and most fun engine swa...

Toasty the more pics you post the better. Remember gravity helps make the mess worse. From the top you have valve cover grommets, then Valvoline cover gaskets, then cam seals, head gasket, oil pump main body, then crankshaft seal, then oil pan gasket at the bottom. On the driver side of the engine y...
