Re: toda 264 10.3 lift vs hks 288/272 10.lift

What management? What static compression ratio? Whoops 10.5:1 HKS supercharger similar to SC12, so it won't benefit from an engine that spins over 8000 rpm.... I'd stick with the Toda 264 cams. Just make sure you don't have an interference issue with either cam - they both are tall enough that the h...

Re: OMG TRD 16v TRD HEADERS

there were 2 TRD headers.... the original was a 4/2/1 type that was discontinued in the early 90s.

the 4/1 version came out later, late 90s, to 2000s.

Re: advice on cam timing?!

Do you have the camshaft timing card? Which(whose) 272 cams do you have? To properly set them you need a few tools.... a piston stop https://static.summitracing.com/global/images/prod/large/cca-4795.jpg and a timing wheel w/pointer - I had made my own piston stop... but found the manufactured one (a...

Re: What's needed?

hmmm Ford Kent making 170hp and 148 #/ft.... do tell, that is very good, exceptional really.... who built the engine??

Building 170hp 4AGE isnt difficult, but typically torque for that crank hp would be about 130-135 #/ft. 7AGE of 170hp may get you close to 145, maybe to 150.

Re: Gonna start a build and see where it goes ===> TWINSCREW !!! :-p

That engine is using an SC12! The entire build was predicated on the SC12's retention. Now to be "fair", this is running a double size intercooler, and it does have aftermarket management, and an O/S pulley, but the SC12 was retained... and yes the cams durations would indicate the ability...

Sounds strong. Chasis dyno? What cams? porting? boost? SC plumbing mods ?
Any little tidbits may improve this twin screw torque even more

much more significant..... the earlier rwd pans are 4 quarts, while the later pans are less volume. If you look at the pan from the front of the engine, there is a "kick-in" on the intake side (axle side in transverse layouts). having more oil available is never really a bad thing... the M...

So this car doesn't have traction brackets? Are they illegal in SCCA? What is the deal with the rack? I don't see a reservoir, and didn't see a mention of it in the book. I highly doubt someone would "de-power" a rack in an official car.. not illegal in SCCA... but illegal in the ITA divi...

Re: 20v smallport inlet

Is the 20v head flow advantage over a smallport head worth the effort ? On stock form the Blacktop head will easily outflow a stock smallport head. Flow @ 9mm lift is usually about 180cfm for a smallport, and about 190 cfm for a stock Blacktop. But total numbers are only part of the story... at low...

9A-FE?? The fact that the rods are MRP makes me think of their stroker kits. Forged GE pistons, or custom FE ones? Never knew the Euro cam was different. There was also a nicer FE exhaust manifold, UK or Euro. If I recall correctly you got one for your built-up 4A-FE. keeping the stroke as is, thes...
