Re: "Kentucky AE86: A Levin Story"

Yeah ... Still haven't fixed anything Lol. Its too nice outside to put her under the knife. Although I did get a cool horn button off of a fellow forum member? Ended up having to get a little adaptor off amazon to make it work. Anyways, here's some eye candy. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1776/4332...

1992 NISSAN SILVIA S13

Hello all! About two months ago me and my buddies bought a Silvia together. We were told it had a misfire, but come to find out it has two bad cylinders. Low compression in cylinders 1 and 3. None of us have the time or space to swap/rebuild a motor so we figured it'd be easier to pass the torch ont...

AE86 Footage

Kind of a random question, but does anyone here have old school touge style or drifting footage they'd be willing to let me use for a music video? I'm starting a new little indie rock band and currently recording its first single. The idea comes from videos similar to this, but with better music Lol...

Re: CloudStrife's AE88

Well, I have a GF now ... LOL dude same. It's looking like some of the money I planned on spending on my AE86 is going towards a deposit on an apartment  Good call on the gsr and ae101 though. You can find those all day every day for dirt cheap, and they're indestructible. I bet you could get ...

Re: Reliability

Sorry but long term reliability and cost-efficient vehicle maintenance, is really low on the list for USA mfgr when designing vehicles for the domestic market. The Mfgr's are only looking in terms of warranty requirements. They have three main goals, cost, crash rating, and EPA fuel. Once the vehic...

Re: Grocery Getter & Weekend Warrior

Very nice!

I've always wondered how a smallport head would perform with bigport cams. Seems like it would be a good and cheap little gain in power. Bigport cams offer 240 degrees duration with 7.56mm lift, where as smallport cams have only 232 and 7.1mm

Re: New AE86 restomod Daily Driver

Huh, are there 2 versions of the sport, or is it not a sport? I noticed the color of the paint is different (darker) than the one i bought new in 2011. 60 mm should be good for a turbo 4ag Yeah they offer the sport with a twin tip too I think. They also started painting them black with a polished t...

Re: 4ag sidedraft - exhaust debate

I agree with your mechanic, a replacement oem cat wouldn't do much to solve your problem, especially in terms of the sound of your exhaust. I can't really comment on the igniting your carpet on fire thing Lol ... but if you're wanting to get one, I would upgrade to a high flow cat or something, then...

Re: New AE86 restomod Daily Driver

LOVE IT. Basically you're combating the lack of air pressure in the mountains by lowering your compression so you can shove more air in there via turbo? Also, good call on overbuilding your motor. I don't understand why people build their motors and push it 110%. They spend more money trying to fix ...

Re: "Kentucky AE86: A Levin Story"

Another minor update (Its finals week and I'm just bored/tired of studying) I paid my insurance for the year, and had some cash left over so I bought a new clutch and water temp gauge via Battle Garage. Now I can finally fix the coolant leak on the backside of the motor, and replace the clutch while...

They do look good, but not as good as an AE86 ;) The fact that its original CW paint and GSR VIN makes it worth a decent chunk of change too! Definitely enough to do a total 20v swap i'd say, or rebuild the f*ck out of your current motor  idk if I've shared this with you or not, but you mig...

In my opinion it's idiotic to drop in crate motors used, especially from JY. And if I'm going to do the work on swapping bottom ends, I would rebuild, if I'm rebuilding anyway.... if possible I try and get the 4age running( may be cheaper) unless you have the extra funds Yeah cloud I agree with this dude. For the money you would spend swapping in a 20V, you could get your car running AND have plenty left over to build the f*ck out of your current motor. Given that there's no...
