20v Blacktop Spark Plug Wire / Ignition Questions

I have a 20v Blacktop with the distributor relocated to the front. Does anyone know where I can get a set of plug wires for it? I read that the wires would be too short if I buy an off the shelf one. Or if anyone knows the length of the wires I need to get if I buy a custom set from Magnecor? Also, ...

How does the steering feel with Tein camber plates? Any issues like I had with the T3 ones? Thanks.

WTB: turn signal switch assembly lhd

Hi I'm looking for the turn signal switch assembly. The one with the arm and hazard switch. I broke the arm off of mine and snapped the plastic area housing the arm. Thanks!

Re: T3 camber plates

Update on this. If anyone is thinking about using the camber plates with oem top hat, don't. It doesn't work. The top hat doesn't spin so the spring has to spin to turn which makes the steering feel awful. In my case I had the rubber bush that goes between the top hat and springs and it acted like a...

Re: T3 camber plates

No short strut conversion. That wouldn't make a difference. The problem I see is the stock top hat doesn't go down the top of the shaft all the way but that would only help a few millimeters. The main problem is the camber plate block has a raised lip on the bottom which increases the height of the ...

Re: T3 camber plates

I ran into an issue. Looks like there isn't enough thread for the nut. Do you think it is fine like this or should I get a shorter nut?

T3 camber plates

So I recently bought T3 camber plates and was wondering should these have come with spacers of some sort? I am going to run it with the stock upper hat and I've been reading something about having the load on the bearings is bad. Please advise. Thank you.

Re: 20v Blacktop High Idle

I tested the TPS and it appears to be within range. The only thing I'm not sure about is the 1mm resistance. I didn't get infinity reading but I'm not sure what that looks like on my multimeter. I mention previously my timing was way off when reading like this can't be right off. I did try different...

Re: 20v Blacktop High Idle

Update on this issue. So I bought another ISCV on ebay and the idle is still high. With the newer one, it surges a bit. Either both are kaput or it's not but I will need another one that works to know. Other related or non related issues I noticed. The idle hangs when I rev up. So when I rev, it wil...

Re: 20v Blacktop High Idle

The cover for the bi-metallic clockspring has some adjustment that is set by the factory, sealed with a smear of silicone and the screws marked with red paint. And the screws that hold the solenoid on are marked with paint, but I think that is just a factory thing to confirm that they have been tig...

Re: 20v Blacktop High Idle

I think I'm going crazy because I just tried to check my timing and I couldn't see the mark. So I painted it white and I still couldn't see the mark. So I thought maybe I should check the bottom of the pulley and sure enough, that is where the mark is at around 6 o clock. Pulley off? No, I just chec...

Re: 20v Blacktop High Idle

I read the two screws are preset at the factory. Should I be marking them with a little paint to make sure they are screwed in the same position?

Re: 20v Blacktop High Idle

Thank you jondee86. I did remove the the ISCV and shot carb cleaner through it. I did not see any black crud come out of it nor any other stuff. I didn't shoot WD40 however. I didn't take apart the solenoid because I wasn't confident I could put it back together right as all the instructions I found...

20v Blacktop High Idle

I'll try to keep it short. I searched the forum but got lots of unrelated posts. Engine: 20v blacktop stock with power steering and A/C. No intake with ITG filter. Vacuum routing looks correct. ISCV was cleaned and is hanging behind engine with breather filter on the open end. Possible failing or fa...

Re: Strut casing spindle rust

Well I soaked it in vinegar and got it all off. Just some hard to remove black bits that I'm not sure what it is. Now how do I go about buffing them up a bit. They are still kinda dull. Is there a specification for the spindle? Like they can't get below a specific diameter before they are unusable? ...

Strut casing spindle rust

Hi I got me a pair of strut casing but there is rust on the spindles and they are quite dull. What would be the best way to remove the rust and shine them up a bit? Or does anyone know a shop that can do the above in socal?

Thanks and God bless!!!

Re: 20v oil type question

Another possible reason is that the viscosity of the oil affects the Oil Control Valve for the cam phasing. Typically the clearances in it dictate the viscosity. Too thin and too much leakage and slow response. Same with too thick an oil. Hank Is that why the cold viscosity is high? What happens wh...

20v oil type question

Hi, Can anyone tell me the reason why everyone recommends 20w50 without the reason being its in the manual for a 20v blacktop? What is the reason for such a high cold start viscosity? Why should I get that over lets say 0w40? I've read all sorts of recommendations such as 5w30, 10w40, 15w40, 20w60 a...
