Re: Help with EGR delete

Ok, I found out that the last open to breathe vacuum nipple/barb is for California bullshit. So definitely capping that. I believe the way those coolant hoses route is like this: https://s6.postimg.org/5n45t3ms1/MA7513_C.jpg I can't really tell since I can't get under the car right now, but I believ...

Re: Help with EGR delete

Hey Deuce! Thanks for the quick reply. No, I deleted the canister when I removed the EGR components. I'm damn sure I did it correctly, but I can't verify as the zero thread is unaccessible, and I can't even get google to find the page to cache. I tried the wayback machine, but I need a login. Here i...

Re: Help with EGR delete

Ok guys, so I cranked her and she caught! She died immediately after, but now I know I'm having a vaccum issue. Ok so here is my setup: It's a factory 86' GT-S. It came with PS and I deleted it. It also has A/C from the factory. I deleted the EGR and put the factory IACV back in place. I used the KS...

HOSE BARBS! haha, sorry I just love learning legacy and proper terminology :)

Thanks guys, just wanted to verify. I need to find that thread that discusses EGR removal but I can't for the life of me find it.

Re: Jumper cable mishap burrrnnnnn

Oh wait, it cranks, but it doesn't catch, right? So maybe EFI fuse?? You have spark, your starter is engaging, so you must not be getting fuel or air. Just for my interest.. Can you make a video of sparking the disty wires? Just find a chassis ground, have someone hold it close and get in the car an...

Re: Jumper cable mishap burrrnnnnn

Oh ****, I think it's Field Service Manual?? Haha, it's just the OEM service book for our cars. You can download it online, but I don't remember where. However you have a 20v, right? Your igniter is different if I remember correctly. It's not like it's vastly different (Like JohnDee said) but your m...

Re: CloudStrife's AE88

Yeah you too man! I'll hit you up if I ever get rid of the bracket.

Unfortunately, I just got burned out with the willwood kit. Especially after the bolt stripped the aluminum on the caliper bracket. I'm just gonna put the stock rear brakes on. Not sure what I'll do about the front...

Re: Jumper cable mishap burrrnnnnn

Dude, don't just randomly try ****. You were on the right path when you were going down the line investigating spark. There is a measurement in the FSM. You should have one anyway. Coil/igniters are pricey, you want to make absolutely sure it's still good. That's very strange you are getting spark, ...

Re: CloudStrife's AE88

Meh, I called them. It seems like the cable isn't long enough (but the sheath is). I fully slacked the E-brake, but it was too taught after the "T", not before it (was actually pretty slack on the e-brake handle side). So they asked me to take them off and measure them. Unfortunately the b...

I just ask because I have Rota Slipstreams which I think are pretty damn sexy (for the DC2) and clock in around 12lbs per wheel.

I highly doubt they are less than that.

Help with EGR delete

So I'm pretty close to cranking the engine, but just need to look over a few things. First off, on the EGR delete, The two BSVs were damaged when the vacuum tubing was taken off. Apparently the plastic nipples, where the vacuum hoses went on were brittle as hell. https://s2.postimg.org/fcm9ugkw9/201...

Looks very cool, but one of the benefits of owning an old-ass 80s chassis, is there are no dummy oil gauges.. I love having oil pressure stock, and without extra ricer gauge pods.

You lose that on Digi dash :)

Re: AC Panel Swap

I highly doubt that. I did some intensive research on Toyo Hvacs a little bit ago when I ran into a similar issue. Those clips change VERY frequently from generation to generation. The only 100% sure visual check I could complete was cross-referencing against Tercel, 4Runner, etc. early 80s chassis....

Ah, I see. Yes, I think there are different ends on different cables ;(like the control on the driver's side flapper has a divot in the plastic rod). I personally like white lithium grease. You could probably even get away with MP grease tube from parts store..

I really want to enter either of the two, but I always worry I've modified the vehicle too much. Honestly ITA seems impossible for the (stock) 86.. But I'm sure so...

Re: Searching for interior parts for my AE86 (Burgundy)

What deuce said. You should pretty much never have to buy HVAC cables unless they break, and that is a solid piece of metal. Those plastic white clips he refers to are insanely important. If you break one, you are screwed. They are also impossible to find on their own, you would need to cannibalize ...

So this car doesn't have traction brackets? Are they illegal in SCCA?

What is the deal with the rack? I don't see a reservoir, and didn't see a mention of it in the book. I highly doubt someone would "de-power" a rack in an official car..

I ended up have to modify both the mounting points though. PMM posted a video and they just basically forced the m...
