Wow yeah I might have to do that if I can't find some proper flanges. Thanks!

Last Sunday was the day for the annual running of the Alexandra Road Hillclimb on Mount Victoria, Wellington. The weather was damn near ideal with a bit of cloud to protect from the sun and a small breeze for cooling. I only have a single layer driving suit and I have to wear fire resistant underwe...

I'm not sure about swapping flanges. You should be able to use your AE86 starter, and probably the starter from any 16V 4AGE or 4AFE including the FWD models. I used the AE92 reduction starter with a T50 and apparently, the starter from an AE93 (whatever that is?) will work as well. Try and get a s...

As promised, a closer look at the 20V starter. Looks like this on the outside... http://i.imgur.com/z1Jlvzc.jpg ... and like this on the inside... http://i.imgur.com/EqfvQyU.jpg So there you have it... 20V starters are reduction type. The gears down the speed and up the torque so that the starter m...

Can't help on the question of lift... but if you asked Kelford Cams I'm sure they could tell you if their cams will work without modifying the head. They will also want to sell you some springs :) The chip is no problem. Just smooth the chipped part with a file or Dremmel so that there are no sharp...

Re: aceforever's panda build log
Performed a compression test and a leak down test today! If you ever need a way to compression test without the harness here's a way. Use your battery ground cable as the positive cable of the starter. Then connect up a wire to the signal terminal on the starter. Connect thick positive cable to a po...

Re: aceforever's panda build log
Point taken, will be setting up appointments for tuners :) Are there any concerns of running 9.2mm lift mechanically on stock 20v BT parts? Also noticed a chip on the crankshaft pulley. Is this of concern? looks like it's on the outside part of the pulley past the rubber part. https://i.imgur.com/U2...

Re: aceforever's panda build log
Haha to be expected. And not what I'd like to hear having just taken the plunge. But it's alright
I'm considering more aggressive cams, like the toda 272 9.2 and the kelford around similar + aftermarket ecu and harness, and upgraded springs if needed.
I'd be happy making ~150whp

On the topic of better tunability during atmospheric MAP is to tune using a blend of TPS signal + RPM and MAP. This isn't supported on my haltech but may very well be on yours.
Currently I'm using the wideband O2 sensor to help keep AFR not leaning out, but it's not ideal.

oof, that does look awesome, especially with the ITBs
I'm going with the 20v blacktop, I hear various numbers for how much bhp these make, anywhere from 150 to 180. Toyota claims 160PS, but I think I haven't seen any stock ones with more than 150 on the forums.

Talked with yellowsnow4free and his approach mentioned in the post actually wouldn't work. Here's another approach that does not involve under dash changes that shagymc came up with. When the running lights aren't on, the corner light and front turn signal light both turns on at the same time when t...
