Re: Need help with coolant temp sensor
Thank you for all the help and suggestions :D !! I have not had much time to look at it laity but i will say all the air is out of the cooling system. I forgot to mention i did do the timing belt when the engine was out. That being said this weekend i checked the marks for the cams and the crank and...

Need help with coolant temp sensor
Hello everyone, i have ran out of ideas of what this problem can be and i have ran out of resources. Some background on the issue: -It is a problem with a completely stock 1986 GTS (with the 4age engine) Hatch no modifications -I recently took the motor out and put it back in after cleaning it up a ...

Re: Your completely predictable AE86 Build
HAHAHAHA i have to say i thought you had some pictures of my own shell when i bought it, it is the same color, rust in the same places, stickers in the windshield in the same place and with s13 wheels on it. Not to mention i am in southeastern PA! I really had to do a double take to make sure you di...

Re: Looking for AE86 Advise (Buying, Technical, Local Clubs)
Glad i can provide some useful information about the rust and glad you are realistic with the price you are going to pay :D . I normally search nationwide on craigslist every day to try to find as many affordable used oem parts as i can find along with buying any ae86s that are reasonably priced. It...

Re: Looking for AE86 Advise (Buying, Technical, Local Clubs)
Hi and welcome to the forum, Let me first say that i have owned many different cars and there have been none that have been as special as the ae86 has been. That being said i will say the obvious that the ae86 is not the fastest car by any means and stock it does not handle as good as say a Miata. E...

Re: (PA)1989 Nissan 240sx for trade for AE86(PA)
yeah but the price of the 86 is skyrocketing higher lol have you seen how much people in California are asking for a gts hatch? 10k, if you had a sr or rb in your 240 i would consider a trade but with the ka i cant say i would

Re: Awsome prices on these corollas
Yes there are still some good prices, i bought my 86 gts hatch that needed some work for 2k last year and just bought a 87 sr5 rolling shell for $600 i search every day for cheap ones. I cant imagine asking 8k for a gts hatch let alone paying that much for one.

Re: AE86 Good Drivers Car?
I actually have a 1999 Miata and it is much faster and handles better (obviously) but if i had to choose between my 86s or the Miata the 86 wins every time. The 86 just has a more raw feeling and is much more challenging not to mention much more cooler car with a lot more personality. The Miata is s...

Re: Out West Trip
Yeah i think i would be very lucky to get an ae86 but realistically i know i will probably need to settle for something else, that starlet was pretty neat although it would not make it across the country. I know it may not seem like the most logical idea to drive a 2 thousand dollar clunker across t...

Re: newbie question
The 4ac engine is a very good engine, it may not make a whole lot of power however i have found most of the time they last linger than the 4ag just because they do not rev as high and people do not beat on them as much. One of the biggest things i would be concerned about is the rust because you can...

Re: My red hatch (fix-up and restoration)
depending on the county most use salt, some use a magnesium based solution that is worse for your car. Regardless i am fixing my rust and mine is not going to see another salty road in its life.

Re: My red hatch (fix-up and restoration)
Nice work! i know how hard it is to find clean cars here in salt land. I live in southeastern PA and i waited years till i found mine, and it still is way rustier than yours. But better than no 86
