My E1 is definitely not there..
However, I've got a photo of another set of ECU - 4AGZE AFM plugs which shows E1 being vacant as well.

My ecu plug also does not have a pin for E1 earth - is that odd?

Hi Jondee,
Thanks for confirming this.
My E01 and E02 are both open circuit so this obviously has a problem.

Hi,
Can anyone tell me where E01 and E02 ground to please? Is there an exact location for those earths?
Many thanks.

Re: 4AGZE Injectors Not Firing
My noid lights arrived yesterday. I managed to test injectors 1 & 2 before I had to stop, nothing lit up.
Either I put them on incorrectly or I didn't see them flash, but there was defintely no flash from 1 or 2.
I will test the other two again later.

Re: 4AGZE Injectors Not Firing
My noid lights are coming in the post this week.
Out of curiosity I tested my compression which is 150, 160, 160 and 160 so no issues there.
My igniter isn't bolted down so could that create a problem?

Re: 4AGZE Injectors Not Firing
'the OP (after I asked) said that this was a engine swap my 85 MR2 the main wire harness came through the rear fire wall at a different location then the SC wire harness you either have to drill a new fire wall hole or put a lot of stress on the wire harness (IMO) in an effort to try to make it work...

Re: 4AGZE Injectors Not Firing
Hi all, Thought it was worth a post as I haven't for a while or had time! I stripped the wiring back to the ECU plugs for the injector grounds and live and there were no broken wires that were interfering with any live leads. There were a few broken strands on the live side so I cut these back and c...

Re: 4AGZE Injectors Not Firing
Hi Jondee, Happy Easter by the way! The earth I'm referring to comes off the engine hook on the RHS of the head to a black connector. This then plugs into a wire bolted to the chassis strut tower. This is connected to a wire that bolts to the injector resister bolt on the chassis, sound longer winde...

Re: 4AGZE Injectors Not Firing
I'm buying another gze loom and ecu for a good price incase one or both of mine are fubar.
I've got to take my loom off anyway, as it's too awkward tracing wires back with it all installed.

Hi Davew7,
I've already got inside the plastic trunking of that part of the loom, so it's just finding the time to get at all the wires. It's relatively easy to access, just time consuming.

Re: 4AGZE Injectors Not Firing
Here is a pic of how the factory insulates a two into one splice with several turns of black tape. When the splice is unwrapped it should look like the lower image. The factory uses an uninsulated butt crimp that is not easy to find in shops. So if your crimp looks like the one in the pic it is pro...

Re: 4AGZE Injectors Not Firing
Hi guys, I thought it was a little odd that the main wire which has the tee'd wire for the injector 1 earth, ran past injector 1 and disappears into the tangle of wires that goes toward the distributor. I did put my multimeter on the wire before the tee which gave spurious results above 0v which was...

Re: 4AGZE Injectors Not Firing
The wire above that tees off, that goes to injector 1 earth.
The wire then going south, I don't know where that goes yet. I'm going to have to see if injector 2 ground comes off of this wire as well.

Re: 4AGZE Injectors Not Firing
I had a spare 45 mins earlier tonight to take the rail off and get inside that part of the loom... I traced back injector 1 ground wire to where it splits off from another ground. Where the injector 1 ground splits off the main ground wire, the rest of that wire looks like it goes towards the dizzy ...

Re: 4AGZE Injectors Not Firing
Can I have clarification as to where all the earthing points are please? Is the one for the rail/intake, on the engine hook that bolts to the head or is there another one somewhere? I would like to point out that I am using a 4AGE head, as a cam cap bolt sheared off inside my GZE head. The bolt was ...

Hi Unlimited86, I have acknowledged the suggestions and advice. I've recently had twins, 15 days ago to precise so my time on here and my car now, is very limited. Re: 4AGZE Injectors Not Firing
In electrical wiring diagrams electricity is thought of as flowing from the higher potential 12V positive terminal to the lower potential ground terminal. Thus the "downstream" side of an item with some resistance will be the side that is closest to the negative or ground terminal. I have...

Re: 4AGZE Injectors Not Firing
Hi Dave,
My engine came with the 4AGZE harness. Nothing had been modified to make it work.
I'm guessing one of the wires in the conduit has broken down. I'll get the rail off at the weekend so I can get to the mass of wires underneath.
Is there a earth point somewhere under all that lot?

Re: 4AGZE Injectors Not Firing
Hi Dave,
This is on a converted AW11, but I did cover over 2000 miles in 2017 before I decided to rebuild the engine.
This is a problem that has occurred whilst the loom has come off.

Re: 4AGZE Injectors Not Firing
Hi Dave,
Yes it does.
I've had it running when it's been flooded by the cold injector.
If the resistor pack was not giving the full amount of voltage, would this affect all the injectors?

Re: 4AGZE Injectors Not Firing
Here is the basic wiring schematic for the AW11 4AGZE injectors... https://i.imgur.com/SHX6RKn.jpg As you can see, the injectors are wired in pairs, and it is impossible for only one injector to have 12V on the downstream side if they are wired correctly. If you have 12V downstream on only one inje...

Re: 4AGZE Injectors Not Firing
I have since cut off the first injector plug connector as there were only a few strands attached on the earth to the plug. I've tested the wires again. I have 12v on all power leads on all 4 injectors. I have dropping voltage to 0 on all 4 earths. Injector 1 had 12v straight away on injector 1 earth...

Re: 4AGZE Injectors Not Firing
If that earth does have 12v, is that the reason my injector won't fire?
At least if it is that wire it'll be fairly easy to trace back down the line even though the rail will have to come off.

Re: 4AGZE Injectors Not Firing
I cannot start the car with 3 injectors. It won't run. I've tried. It ran for a few seconds but I think because I flooded it.
Why press the clutch in?
I've checked the injector to ground, it gives me 12v. Both sides on no.1 injector give me 12v. The rest give me 12v and 0v.

Re: 4AGZE Injectors Not Firing
Could this be the ground in the ECU or a physical ground visible in the engine bay?
And the impossible is possible
I'm assuming that my ground is touching a live somewhere? Also, as 1 and 4 are linked, it is taking out no.4 as well?
2, 3 & 4 have 12v one side.
