Any musicians in the forum? : )

Just a random question, i know we all have a passion for the 86 here, but are any others musically inclined? Ive been a guitarist for almost 20yrs played powerviolence, grind, death metal and anything extreme in my early years. I currenly play bass in a indie noise/shoegaze band. Also been getting i...

Recovered!!! in one piece? Hope so...thieves can suck a fat one, people always laugh at me when i take my 86 places and get all paranoid about it getting stolen, i have to park it in a secured paid parking lot or where i can easily see it lol...i once went out for lunch with a friend(not a car guy)...

Re: Need a price reference

I agree with aukword... If it's a sanctioned car the negotiations with price will be a little more.. Although to me swapping to a 13b brings down the value of the vehicle. I don't like rotary engines, and the whole reason I didn't buy an FC over a piston 4AGe is because of this! Just my two cents y...

Re: Need a price reference

Yea your post is vague prices vary if its a coupe or hatch, sr5 or gts, carb or FI 13b, what gen engine is it? Is it ported? If its sr5 coupe, carbd with a stock s5 or s4 13b would get much less than a gts hatch with a renesis FI engine lol

hmmmm, me thinks you guys have the wrong idea......... Note there were fwd cars as part of the total. I SERIOUSLY doubt that the factory ever made CE86's... The diesel equipped cars would have been fwd. you are probably correct, but i did see 2 coupes being sold as diesel titled over 10years ago, b...

Re: Corolla GTS/SR5 for a first car?

By the looks of it i dont think OP got an 86 lol...yea reliability and safety is not something these 30yr old cars excel at haha...honestly, a reliable 86 means a well cared for 86, and a well cared for 86 translates to 10-13k+ , for 6-10k you can get much more faster, reliable and safer cars like a...

That's crazy bro, I had no idea we got diesel 86s. Just go with good bearings, especially if you are going to put a welded diff, which interprets to you wanting to slide your 86 and a cheap bearing will just be a waste of time and $...i wouldnt even put $10 bearings on a skateboard lol

Re: Bump steer after aw11 manual rack conversion

If your 86 is lowered more than 1.5inches from stock you will need front RCAs to alleviate the bump steer, if you have RCAs and your bump steer is still persistent then your car is too lowered. You have 3 option, go back to powered steering, raise your car up, or just live with it. I honestly think ...

I totally agree with you on how its a simple platform and prices are stupid, but the same could be said about a datsun 510, vw mk1, bmw 2002, rx3...they are sought after collector cars that usually start off at 10k for a descent good running one and the 86 is now in that niche...super clean 4-5k Gts...

Wow, bro I would try and trade something with a full interior when asking to swap for such a mint GC8 offering lol. if the 86 is super solid mechanically, no accident clean titled, and straight its a better investment in the long run than the subie, interior is important but you can still find inte...

All SR5's should be track cars lol haha good one, but sadly its other way around, most Gts models are far from being unmolested to say the least, many fall between the resto mod and drift missile category lol....i think there are far more unmolested, non abused, clean titled Sr5s out there that gts...

Thankfully I did my GTSR5 swap many years ago when it was cheap to get a GTS coupe and swap it all over to a hatch. Let's face it though, the cost for parts and just these cars in general will just continue to rise. Imagine what an unmolested stock GTS will be worth in another 30 years lol. i highl...

I think the club is just seeing a change at the moment, but i believe in the near future C4AG will see a return but in a different way. The reason i say this is because the 86 is stepping into "classic car" territory, just like many cult cars before it, like the bmw 2002, datsun 510, rx3, ...
