Re: 4AGZE Conversion

BTW seeing that you want to use stock parts, what kind of clutch set you guys have?

I had stock 200mm and 212mm sets used from Fidanza, Toda etc. for the OEM flywheel. Only the one from Illegal Garage lasted more than six months. And I didn't drift my AE86 regularly, but I did dragracing a lot.

Re: Extinction Of The AE86

So, yeah.... I know that the rwd Starlet was available with the diesel option, the E Corolla chassis have been available with the 1C diesel and so THEORETICALLY the AE86 (wudda been a CE86 then) had that option. But then, only for JDM. Then again, in the early nineties I read (past tense) in a diges...

Re: Turbo manifold question

XCorrect me if I'm wrong, but.... strictly speaking, a turbo manifold/header is really not an issue restriction wise as is the actual turbo. For racing it's the norm to use an efficiently fabbed turbo header depending on the engine combo and the turbo used. For street or a street/strip vehicle, for ...

Re: 4AGZE Conversion

Well Jondee, the MAP version can cope with that set of cams. There's still overfueling at the top end at every flatchange(powershift), you know. I've used that set for 13 months and without an intercooler. No problems other than a twisted axle in the diff and spiderwebbed stock flywheel at the end o...

Thing is while the HKS cams do help to boost power overall, the 101 Webcams gives the 3500 to 6000 rpm range excellent oomph.

My experience with aftermarket cams on my GZE'ised bluetop? The 256/264 HKS cams are really good. But the 101grind cams from Webcams Racing Cams are "da bomb" with supercharged 4AG engines.....

Of course, I installed a set of TRDUSA valve springs and gave the ports some cleanup.....

Which why I said, for the most part stock-cammed. In fact, Paradise racing was one of them running low 8s with stock cams when they were campaining their old AE86. So, I think to run single digits with a built engine running stock cams you must additionally have at least a short length big runner in...

Jinx, you do realize of course that the DSM 4g63 is a 2L engine versus our 1.6L/1.8L 4AGE/7AFE. Okay, and speaking of bigger engines.... The Tacoma's turbo 2RZFEs being used by the boricuas in dragracing still are for the most part stock-cammed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2AoeYvixNk4 https://ww...

Re: Opinions on Sr5 20v swaps vs GTS 20v swaps and conversions and everything else

I've said this on the 4AG message board and on the old forum: if it is an OEM AE86 GT-S it would be near sacrilegious to swap any other engine into it. To me, MY thoughts. But I mean, a 4AGZE or 20V or turbo 4AG I wouldn't mind. The 4AC equipped AE86 may even be swapped with an LS, I don't think twi...
