Re: Any one good with oem radios?
You can buy reverse harnesses for them as far back as 82 I think. http://www.metraonline.com/part/Toyota_wire+harness_71-1398 You can use this to just plug into the radio or if you have the harness, it will tell which wires do what. Not sure if this is what you are looking for. If you can power the ...

Interior is looking great, love the radio upgrade. The LEDs won't dim as far as I know but haven't researched that very well. I'll look into it in the future.

SEM makes very high quality interior paint for vinyl and plastics. I did all my plastics with it and you can see my process in the build log.

Re: Radio wiring help....
The blue wire from the radio is a power antenna and/or amp turn on wire. It sends 12v out whenever the radio is on. I would not just randomly connect that to any wire unless you know what it does. I personally would cap both of those wires if the radio fires up fine without any issue with them disco...

Re: CloudStrife's AE88
The existing underdash and bay harness are kept, the engine harness is the only piece that will get swapped. When I had my 20v, I had a tweaked engine harness with the BGRS plug and play haltech. Install was breezy. I can probably answer most of your 20v questions too!

Re: Electric fan ignition wire
Also, your diagram is drawn so that the sending units trigger wire (the wire that will show ground above/below a setpoint) drops ground at temp. So if it shows ground above the setpoint, you'll need to wire the first relay slightly different by moving the 87a wire to 87. Based on what you said in yo...

Re: Electric fan ignition wire
This is going to depend on what your sending unit puts out when it reaches temp, if it sends a signal at temp. Senders typically work off of varying resistance on a ground line so the sensor will be 2-wire and the output lead will vary from low impedence to some higher value (whatever it is calibrat...

Re: Electric fan ignition wire
I'd recommend running a relay off of the ignition harness. It will make sure you have the appropriate amperage support needed to run fans.

85: Fused ignition 12V
86: Ground
87: Fused 12V to battery
Just my two cents! Good luck!

Solid work man, when I work with fiberglass, to me it is easier to saturate the matt first then lay it. I find I get less bubbles that way. It does make a huge mess though on large sheets like you were using. I was digging the side brackets too. I think they'll look great once they're painted. I wil...

Thanks Grappletech! I know this build has slowed to a frustrating pace but things keep happening with my life to road block any chance of progress. I've bought throttle bodies from him that he waterjetted. They were awesome. He's a solid guy and shipping is usually a week and a half to 2 and a half weeks. As far as results, follow his IG, he has consistently put together 200+ HP 4AGs NA and that is not an easy thing to do. I haven't used his he...

Great video man! I loved seeing the backlash measurements with the micrometer. I've never made it that far with mine but I feel like it might be coming up and I feel pretty confident I can handle that tedious work. Might need a few beers to keep the patience going but still doable! Keep crushing it!

Yep, car's still at the shop for paint. The owner and I became really good friends and I pretty much can go there and use their stuff to work on the car. Unfortunately I moved 2 hours away a couple months ago so it's a little harder getting down there. I guess I should update a bit. I've been contin...

I had the v3 installed on my BT. Install was fairly easy, though I removed my heater core so you'll have a couple more hoses to connect. Temps were steady and never had issues with it. All in all it was a great purchase and I found I liked it much better than the T3 version that was priced way higher.

I just read this entire thread from front to back. Killer stuff dude. Appreciate the love man. So I took some finished shots of the wiring well 99% complete. The relays for the IGN and FAN on the drivers side still need a fused 12 volts but the breaker is right there so I'll probably have it all do...

I'll get tech drawings offline when I get home tonight, but the best thing I would recommend is finding the pin in the ecu plug that comes from the O2 sensor, se your meter on continuity and test either of the two wires you suspect to be it. Ensure the plug is unplugged from the ecu when testing. I'...

Been a while Club4AG. Just throwing some little updates out as the car is still sitting for paint and progress is slow while I have been transferring out of the military. Engine Management for BEAMS swap....
Curious to see what route you BEAMS swap guys are going and what type of numbers you so with your swaps. Any feedback for someone about to jump in? I was thinking of going Haltech Elite 1500. I know the dual VVTI is an issue for the more affordable ECUs.
Any feedback is appreciated!

Re: Wiring Kouki fender light OR clear bumper lens lights
If you do it that way, the corner light becomes JUST a turn signal. My way it maintains a parking light function when the headlight switch is in parking light or headlight positions. So if you're ok with that light just flashing then this way will work but if you want the functionality of the light ...

I'm pretty sure it's a 3-pin green module around the Driver kick or above it on the dash support bar. I've completely revamped my dash harness so I don't have a great reference to go off of for you, just memory. I have the Haynes manual if you need the schematic too! Good luck!

Re: Strange wiring under steering column
If I had to guess, either someone was cheap and decided to wire this up because their factory flasher stopped working or they were trying to wire in bumper lights. I would track down the factory flasher plug and module and see if it works or if you at least have the plug.

Thanks man. Small update to the bay work: Stopped by the shop just to chill and they had the bay filled and roughly sanded so you can get an idea of what it's going to be. I think in the coming weeks we'll see a lot more since most of the labor work is done. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640x480q...

Could you make your own? I've always wondered if you could using bicycle brake cable and then soldering it all together or something along those same lines. I guess even two throttle cables, if cut properly with shielding would work out too. Just spit balling here Mister DEE
