Re: Car bogs down during hard turn!!!
could be an sr5 non baffled tank. had an ae86 with an sr5 tank in it, would bog down during hard turns with less than 1/3 tank. This. You either have a SR5 tank with no baffles, a phucked up GTS tank, or a pinched/kinked fuel feed line to the fuel filter. Either way, it's fuel starvation, i know th...

i know 800whp s2000's running the stock trans, it's a solid trans. I would either get another trans (AP2 is a little better) or just fix that trans for a few hundred dollars. *shameless plug* I can fix it if you're in SoCal, I'm a Honda Master Technician/ASE Master Technician.

Best bang for buck list: -Weir 4.77 final drive w/ solid spacer (for $350 your AE86 will love you and hate freeways) -T3 shifter bushing kit (for $30 go from limp to Peter North) -Tomei Poncams (for $500 these bumpsticks are worth every penny in 16v or 20v, you'll scream their name in bed after the ...

Re: New to the forum and to the 86 much assistance needed
I would recommend ditching the SR5's 4AC engine in favor of a 16v 4AGE. They came in the GTS AE86 85-87, the MR2 and the AE92 FWD corollas. I would do this over any other engine. The parts are easily available, swapping the motor from the 4AC to the 16v 4AGE is very simple and requires little work. ...

WTB 16v RWD water pump housing/20v waterpump neck
Need two 16v rwd water pump housings, the housing with thermostat neck, water pump not really needed. Also need two upper water pump neck for the 20v, it's the OEM neck that runs from the head by the ITB's to the back of the water pump on all 20v's. LMK.

Re: ae86 to SR20 conversion [need help]
Did you blow up the ring and pinion or just the OEM LSD unit? If you just blew up the OEM LSD, congrats, you can do that with a 16v 4AG. The OEM LSD is weak as sh!t, gotta upgrade to an aftermarket unit, especially with the SR power. Tomei is like the best bang for buck ratio.

Re: 20v Blacktop EVAP???
I'm using one off a S2000. It's just a simple solenoid. One wire will have key on 12V power, the other wire will be the ground controled by the ECU EVAP pin. One hose to EVAP canister, the other hose to a vacuum source. Grab one off a almost anything with the connector.

JSP john and taka dyno'd the ching chong OBX JSP copy against other headers. Test car was a Blacktop 20v AE86. The car came with a TRD 4-1 as a base. When replaced for the OBX JSP knock off, the engine LOST POWER all across the board over the TRD unit. When testing the JSP header the engine made pow...

uhhhh it's carb'd.....spark and fuel man. The 4AC is a glorified potato launcher. A coolant temp sensor is not the issue. Even on a EFI car it's only used for fuel mapping/cold start bs.

Re: 20v Water Pump?
Dude, what issues? Run all 16v parts instead of 20v stuff and you are fine. JSP head mod, some block off plates, a $30 TRD 16v headgasket, 16v water pump housing, 16v water pump and 16v pulley. 16v crank pulley, alternator bracket and pulley etc etc. You make the entire 20v engine run on 16v parts. ...

^^^^I've been doing Weir's blown up rear ends. But i didn't say that. Buy parts from them, but don't have them setup your pinion. There are numberous horror stories from them. If not me, I would recommend K1 (Pass Racing) as Jackie as been building corollas forever as well.

Re: rack spacer vs power knuckles
You want BOTH the rack spacer and the PS knuckles. You'll need some T3 or similar adjustable outer tie rods though, the stock outer tie rods don't allow for enough adjustability in order to center the rack and get everything aligned right. I've only seen binding at full lock on one corolla before to...
