I thought hydraulic tensioners were only used on the Blacktop 20V engines ?
The Blacktop uses a different belt to the Silvertop as the tensioner wheel is in a different location.
That may be why you are a tooth out in the belt,
as the Silvertop 20V has the same tensioner setup as all the 16v's.

Yes both done with appropriate technique and lube.

My dyno tuner has seen it before on 4AG based stuff,
and they ended up going to 13mm ARP headstuds ( to suit Mitsi EVO's apparantly)
to fix the issue.

If is runs fine with no AFM,
and wont with it plugged in
then most likely cause is faulty AFM.

Have struck that on a couple of 20V's now.
