Re: T3 Lightweight Pulleys

I have the T3 light weight pulleys on my BT 20v 4age. I also have the fidanza light weight flywheel as well. I have not had a problem with any of the parts so far. Alternator charges everything just fine and water temps stay in range. I will admit that my car does not have all the accessories that a...

Re: 20v reving between gears

Jondee, This is the screw I had originally adjusted to lower the idle: http://img4.imagetitan.com/img4/small/16/16_20170806_135252.jpg The throttle opener rod is not adjustable. So there is no way I could have messed with the throttle opener. I am thinking the the check valves for the throttle opene...

On the rod there is a stop that controls the opening of the itbs throttle valves. That is what I adjusted for the idle.

Re: 20v reving between gears

When the engine initially starts, the revs go to 3500rpm or so and they drop back down (normal speed) to 1000 rpm and stay there. I had adjusted the idle stop (the one stop that controls all 4 throttle openings) to move the idle to where I wanted it (1000 rpm). Is the vacuum servo the metal diaphram...

20v reving between gears

Hey guys, I have a blacktop 20v 4age with a haltech elite 1500. I got tired of dealing with my iscv so I decided to remove it from the engine. Now when I shift gears, the engine will rev 500 rpm or so in between the gear shift. It is making smooth driving somewhat difficult. Also when the car starts...

Re: T50 rebuild - replacement gears?

I will take a picture of the 2nd gears in the T50's I have opened up. If I am going to take the thing apart completely I would really feel a lot better about replacing the most used gear. I read in a previous post that you can file the teeth on the gear back to shape. Has anyone done this and had su...

T50 rebuild - replacement gears?

I recently started having some grinding issues when shifting into second gear. I cracked open a couple extra mystery condition T50's to take a look at the condition of them. It looks like one of them has a bad second gear (syncro and collar teeth are both worn pretty good). The other looks to be in ...

Re: MK3 int. shaft and manual rack swap

I am not sure what the official name is for the 3M product nor do I know where to get it. I had a friend who had used it and told me about it. He had some play in his column/intermediate shaft that he fixed with the 3M rubber stuff. Might be worth giving 3M a call yourself and ask them. In regards t...

Re: MK3 int. shaft and manual rack swap

Johnoae86 you could try undoing the 2 ujoint bolts and seeing if you can get it off without removing the column. Otherwise, you will probably have to pull the column out.

Re: MK3 int. shaft and manual rack swap

The intermediate shaft has rubber on it from the factory. So I would assume it is fine. Most if not all of the shaft's movement is horizontal. The female end on the column where the shaft plugs into is shaped a certain way. So the shaft cannot spin inside the column at all. The only way the intermed...

Re: MK3 int. shaft and manual rack swap

The intermediate shaft should sit halfway inside the open space in the ujoint. So what you could do is push the intermediate shaft all the way out into the ujoint to the point where it is bottoming out against the actual internal ujoint inside the ujoint. Verify that your steering cant move anymore ...

Re: Looking for Ae86 Lightswitch + Fuel door

How is it broken? If it is physically broken then it is more than likely the contact points inside. You can take it apart and solder them again. Takes like 20 minutes of mindless work to do. I have done this on a few of them and they work every time. Give it a try.

Re: MK3 int. shaft and manual rack swap

Not sure if it helps any but the stock AW11 manual rack is taller than the AE86 manual rack. So the pinion gear sticks out of the housing pretty far. The pinion gear height isnt really adjustable. The end of the gear slides directly into a bearing inside the bottom of the housing.

Re: Getting stock tachometer to work with haltech ecu?

So I looked around for one of these relays in my spare parts box and did not find one. I ended up using two spare EFI relays. The tachometer seemed to be stable all the way through the rpm. Then I took the car for a good drive and tried revving it again (redline from 1 - 3 gears). The tachometer nee...

Re: Getting stock tachometer to work with haltech ecu?

Just thought I would share some more information about this. I am using the setup that Jondee has listed above and the tachometer is still having some troubles revving beyond 5k rpm. I talked with Haltech and he said to try hooking up two relays to give it more kick. So if you run into this situatio...
