Re: Gonna start a build and see where it goes ===> TWINSCREW !!! :-p

maybe on paper the roots is "bad", but i for one can't c it Several full street 1.6 SC12 AE86s go 13.9-13.7s with only bolt ons. No porting, oe cams Incredible from a 'torquey' puny 1.6 imo. Excellent platform to build on I'd think Add a 7A bottom end, head work, aftermarket cams diaed in,...

Re: Gonna start a build and see where it goes ===> TWINSCREW !!! :-p

unless I'm reading it wrong? ....that thing looks like it's making an unusal amount of tq thats what accompany's an unusal amount of effort/detail @6500rpm torque is still ~155 ft-lbs. It does appear that the SC12 makes the best out of the improved midrange VE, than falls behind a bit in the hi rpms...

oldeskool, that 1.6 SC12 deserve a build thread. Got a link ?
Sounds strong. Chasis dyno? What cams? porting? boost? SC plumbing mods ?
Any little tidbits may improve this twin screw torque even more

NPR made the pistons and rings in the DSM mentioned above. not just any "cheap pistons".... but a proven "cheap" piston, is the message. Huge difference if a 3000 pound 2.0L street car runs 10.1sec 1/4s! with those $90 pos pistons for years... good enough for me No gze piston will c that sorta abuse A bad tune can & will melt a forge...

stroke for displacement = more and broader torque curve. 7AG will cover 99% of us. 9AG is an option for the hardcore $$$$$ 1.6 has no prob hiitng 500 atw. IF they actually did that. port the head/add big valves, call it untouched.... bore/forge pistons, call the block virgin regrind oe cams, call em stock. To go thru all that is plain foolish. think just over 500hp was ~30ish psi boost, GT35R. Solid 435 ft-lbs tq too. Rollachriz did mention the stock intake holding back ~400hp.... as other hi strung 4/7AGTEs have found could it be old tired oem valve springs causing power to hit a brick wall, while 'stock' cams get the blame ? all the additional pressure on the back of the valve, might have a huge affect ? the DS...
