Re: New AE86 restomod Daily Driver

then what rims on car picture ? I see many people worried (hks being too restrictive) but my evo puts out 350hp blowing through the stock exhaust 60mm in the choke points. If it does become an issue I won’t mind changing it whatsoever. evo exhaust designed for a turbo car. Big difference. One builde...

Re: New AE86 restomod Daily Driver

at the peak of the turbo craze, countless turbos added to much younger stock 4AGs Dunno anybody that sets up a turbo car for 200,000 miles.... especially in todays changing world. That's overbuilding right there I suppose :) managing heat is vital for longevity on a boosted car. To push 300hp worth ...

turbo'd stock bluetops done 300hp. Stock GZE bottom ends seen 4,5,600hp Don't see much point overbuilding. A leanout will damage forgies, and detonation can hammer any rod bearings A CXracing turbo ain't 'overbuilding' :) quite a few dyno'd turbo + TVIS advantages. A significant shift tq curve upwar...

u r off to a good start. Will that HKS exhaust not strangle a 4agte.... looks kinda small I'd rethink forced induction. If you want a power car this is the wrong chassis. BEAMS swap can be drop in and A LOT less headache than trying to go turbo. Nothing transform a street corolla like boost. Proven ...

not much to c, engine vs chasis dyno
looks like porting + compression certainly increased output straight accross.... verified by how it drove

Re: OST-047: Skippy Replicate

cool to see a clean street FX16. Sad to see this one get 'unplugged'

so this is a 10.7:1 TVIS bigport .....with TVIS working ?
Torque looks beefy(for a na 1.6) from down low. Would be interesting to see a stock torque curve overlay/comparison
I'd imagine the FX drove strong?

u still have to fab manifolds? if unwilling to restore injection, u probably better off selling the 4AGE & carbs and picking up a cheap 4AC (or 3) they seem to like drawthru turbos, and will kill any run of the mill non boosted 4AGE u can still find info on a few builds online 1st build I saw ye...

You got pics of the CA18? I love that motor. Never posted pix of any project. Will soon tho. CA18 stuff going to a coupe. Didn't intend to, but daily drove my CA S13 for 14 straight trouble-free years! Most reliable car I've ever owned. That dirty nissan made a believer out of me. 4AGE. And it real...

ca18 was my lowest cost path to a turbo corolla. Good 'fit', already 1.8, strong 5spd, tweakable oem electronics, etc.. "Keep it toyota" tax = $$$$pend considerably more Fortunately, skills & brains can drastically reduce a 4AGTE budget.... down into the 'good performance value per dol...

3SGTE is your only option, and it is arguably the fussiest and most costly vs nissan, mitsu, mazda, 4s Turbocharging the 4AGE would be the "best fit" imo. Set any 'reasonable' goal, and the runt has delivered, without much fuss Eventually I plan on turbochraging my last GTS.... keeping it ...

maybe on paper the roots is "bad", but i for one can't c it Several full street 1.6 SC12 AE86s go 13.9-13.7s with only bolt ons. No porting, oe cams Incredible from a 'torquey' puny 1.6 imo. Excellent platform to build on I'd think Add a 7A bottom end, head work, aftermarket cams diaed in,...
