Smallport and largeport take different rails, but both use top-feed injectors.

Thread size and pitch is the same on the AW11 and AE86 racks. Just reuse your AE86 inner and outer tierods. If you want to center the ackerman angle, put a band clamp over the rack on the pinion side before installing the inner tierod.

Re: Future Build Components
Big crank in 3 rib block is not typical... I'd still look for a 7 rib block. No need for aftermarket rods (except mass savings)... Supertech exhaust valves would be 27.5mm. If you use Supertech springs, then you must use their retainers, and their spring seats... I'd also use their keepers. All tho...

The Godspeed and other similar designed rear links are like that too. They have a spherical bearing with the outer race made out of some kind of plastic type material. They work well and are a bit quieter than full metal bearings.

It's a VR sensor, not hall effect, but yes. '96 and later OBD2 4A and 7A engines use this.

I'm running 550lb Eibach springs up front and TRD 4.7kg uncut rear springs. I don't recommend running that combination unless you have my full setup, though. QA1 springs are quite a bit less than Eibach, so take a look at what they have to offer. For the most part, spring steel is spring steel.

Re: AE86 Suspension and effects
Just the raw numbers don't tell the story. You really need to look at the dyno plots to see what is going on. Nearly all "sport" shocks are heavily compression biased. The good news is that Bilstein shocks are easily revalvable out of the box. You need to send them to Bilstein, since they ...

Re: AE86 Suspension and effects
I agree with OST on using linear springs. Progressive springs make things too unpredictable for my liking. One thing you'll need to get your head around is that the RSX has a suspension that was designed to make the car handle well. The AE86 suspension design is from 50 or 60 years ago and was not d...

Without knowing what you plan to do with the car and which tires you plan to run, feedback will be of limited value, but here's my experience with the car, which is mostly track driving. Unfortunately, most of the shock/strut suspension kits that say AE86 on the box are junk. Yes, they will be bette...

Re: Wheel size question
Seems like a lot of money and effort to make them 1/2" wider. You're already stretched with 195 width tires, so I'm not sure why you would want to do this. If you really want to, just get under there and measure to see if it will rub.

Re: LSD half shaft axle installation question
Rub a little bit of oil on the seals and cylinder that the bearing sits in. That should help things slide in more easily. If the cylinder is rusty, I'd take the opportunity to clean it ip with some rust remover, which should make life easier when you pull the axles next.

Re: T50 - NEED HELP
What problem are you trying to solve? If you feel the gear spacing isn't appropriate for the driving you're doing, the easiest thing to do is to change the final gear ratio. If you're in an AE86, the stock rearend gear ratio is 4.3:1. You can get a lower ratio, something like a 4.1:1 or 3.9:1 to rai...

Re: GT-S/AE86 Easy and Cheap Engine Swap Options.
What's wrong with the 16V 4AGE? The car is plenty fun with that engine in it. The only swap that I would consider "easy" is the smallport 4AGE. You'll need to either modify (cut & weld) the intake manifold or buy an adapter and get a largeport rwd intake manifold. Otherwise, it's direc...

Re: AE-86 Track/Race car Spoiler/GT Wing Size and shape
If you're asking whether it makes sense to run a large wing, I think it does in some cases. I run an aerofoil wing from a Lotus Elise on my car and it made a significant difference on Laguna Seca. The rear is much more planted when I'm cooking down the hill. I'm able to go flat from T8 to T10 now, w...

Re: AE86 levin trueno Time-Attack setup biuld
I've been doing time attack with my car for a few years now and I feel like most of the stuff that says AE86 on the box is not very good for track use. If you don't care about time and you just want to drive, pretty much anything is fine, but if you want to get the most out of the car, you're better...

Re: 15x8 tire size for track purposes
I'll also add that the hub design requires a positive offset wheel to get the suspension geometry right. Running low positive, zero or negative offset wheels increases scrub radius, which is not great for handling. There really is no reason to run stagger wheels or tires on this car. Set it up corre...

Re: Removing 16v 4ag engine
Empty the gear oil from the transmission and pull the engine and trans out together as shown. It helps a LOT if you have a load leveler on your engine hoist. When you install the engine, you need to swing it all the way to the left side to get it to go past the radiator support. It's pretty easy, re...

225's won't fit without some rolling and cutting. If you're close to stock power, you really don't need that much tire anyway. 205 is as much as you can comfortably fit with minimal rolling and cutting. I run 195 width Hankook RS3's and they work pretty well with minimal stretch. I don't think they ...

I don't think there is a design issue. They intend for you to use all of their stuff together, not mix-n-match like all of us have done. My bet is that if you use their valves, their springs, retainers and keepers all together, everything lines up perfectly. I think they just need to make it clear t...

Gearing is good on the T50 with 4.3 rearend for most courses in NorCal. It also works perfectly for the NorCal tracks with exception of Thunderhill West.
