Re: Racecar: ITA AE86 with provenance(history)
A very stiff front sway bar and good enough rear compression stroke (comparatively soft springing too) will produce that effect

If the car's been corner balanced, I'd consider a difference in height from one side to the other normal, as they have been adjusted to a different height.
Did you end up getting the RCAs?

Lol!
You can check how Porsche does it with his bucket seat interiors, like on the GT3, GT2 cars.

Re: Restoring AE86 w/ 4AGE 16v + HKS ITB + Haltech E6X
I'm with Deuce on this one. No manufacturer has done it like that, and for a reason. The belt would literally choke you on certain decelerations, especially if you're short as you claim, the way it's put on the pic above. I'm not even talking about a crash situation. The belt has to hold you from th...

Yes. This is also made for not releasing the belts when the car has rolled over a side, or on its roof. And hence why you will never be able to release ir during hard cornering or braking, or any high Gs.

Check out the door mechanism that releases the belt. When putting it back together, it has to be on a certain position so that when you close the door, the belt is able to be moved freely.

Re: Restoring AE86 w/ 4AGE 16v + HKS ITB + Haltech E6X
I wouldn't recommend bucket seats and harness unless you fit those with a rollcage.
It's not like you have much time to react, but in case of a roll-over, the stock seatbelt and seat allow you to duck slightly and maybe prevent your head from being crushed by the roof.

Amazing. Speaking about using the intake duct and airbox, for my 20v I was looking into this (pipercross hasn't gotten back to me with details of the tallest stacks it would fit): http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/12/27/9c087afc840657f473d3ae9198da2ded.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Glad it's running again! That looks like a very "stock" and clean small port. I can barely tell the inverted intake mani. I have my MR2's 7rib bigport bone stock and runs like a champ under 6k, where I use it mostly, as it's my daily. Like it for this use much better than my mildly tuned 3...

Isn't the Mod. 78 the best wheel of all time? Mine's a 330mm one and swap it with the quick release from my AE86 to my AW11. Love it! http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/12/18/22c21a8a5adcea45460c467f8e3f1f2d.jpg Hope you can find out soon what's out of spec. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Restoring AE86 w/ 4AGE 16v + HKS ITB + Haltech E6X
Jondee, you probably already assumed this, but ride height should be measured with a driver of a similar weight (or equivalent ballast) sitting on the car, shouldn't it? I've never been a fan of NRCAs because of what I've read about them in the past, but some swear by them. Although for now I would ...

Oh, those motorized Koitos are so valuable these days. I wish I had bought a set a few years ago. The ones I showed aceforever I bought them off yahoo auctions Japan last month for a pretty penny, and they're broken. But a good set will easily set you back $500 nowadays. :( Sent from my iPhone using...

Lol. There's always something to do. Either to replace or change what you think that could be upgraded. But yeah, there are "sweet plateaus" of wrenching, in which you just turn the key and drive. If you do your work well it should be more often than not :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Whoa. Some dedicated work there. This car will be in top condition at this rate. I really like that you take your time to do things right once. Reminds me of that attitude I have when working on cars of "while at it", which has made me basically change the whole car from time to time, lol ...

They're either Koito (oroginal!!) or some (probably cheap and not very good) replacement. And usually they're closed, or however you call the kind that don't allow you to get a different bulb. If they are a non-original lens, and they allow for a bulb replacement, try the philips xtremevision bulbs ...

That's the lens. Different from federal to euro beams. But I much rather like the euro beam, and they're less aggressive towards other drivers coming face on.

Airport35 will be nice for when mild foggy conditions arise, but it's still very old technology. Once I fitted my bosch lenses and philips xtremevision bulbs, I had a hard time noticing the yellow lighting from the airports, making them only a nice vintage touch, but not much more. On thick fog you ...

Skippers are an entry level to Cibie. Airport were standard equipment on countless euro cars in the 70s and 80s. 205 GTi and Renautl 5 Turbo (both on the fwd and the MR) to name a few... This seller also has a cool Skipper kit that fits with the license plate. Sold for the JDM market only. Very rare...

Well done! I didn't want to make a hole on my new jdm bumpers either, so I did something similar to what you did. But instead of a u-bracket, I decided to drill and tap the bumper's hex screw. It took a while but works too and it's a bit simpler (in concept, it actually took more effort by modifying...

Dang! Or since you got the caliper unplugged, take it out, have someone at a shop take it for you (maybe easier than sourcing a butane torch and extractor?) and after that while at it, rebuild the calipers with the toyota gasket and seals repair kit

The brake squeal is normal with sporty pads at low speeds and medium pressure. Otherwise you might be missing some of the antisqueal hardware (metal pins in the pads/caliper)

Congrats on your resolution and progress.
The indicators and hazards do use a separate fuse, at least in the AW11, so I think it'll be the same thing here. Otherwise I can't be of much help with your other issues.
